The Syndicat de défense des producteurs de l’AOC Côtes de Duras (Côtes de Duras AOC producers’ union) has made it its mission to
• Defend the Appellation d’origine contrôlée’s collective ownership.
• Implement production regulations, in collaboration with the wine growers and the Institut National de l’Origine et de la Qualité (National Institute for Provenance and Quality), guaranteeing the wine’s origins, its typicité, or character, and the diversity of Côtes de Duras wines
• Oppose any usurpation of the appellation and defend the rights of member wine growers.

The Union Interprofessionnelle des Vins de Duras (U.I.V.D.) (Interprofessional Union for Duras Wines) looks to
• Promote the Côtes de Duras appellation
• Carry out market research
• Monitor Downstream Quality
